We had the missionaries over for dinner the other night and they shared a message with our family about the restoration of the gospel. They were grateful Joseph Smith had prayed to seek direction about which church to join. While pondering that thought, these were the scripture references that quickly came to mind:
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God
Moroni 10:4-5 ye would ask God
D&C 10:5 pray always
3 Nephi 18:15-23 Jesus teaches the Nephites to pray
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing
How many more times in the scriptures are we instructed to pray? So, my message this week is to pray, even about little things that seem insignificant. But, especially pray about your calling. Pray for the children you serve. Pray for the adults you serve with. Pray to have the spirit with you during your preparations. Pray to understand the needs of those you will be serving. Pray to know what to have them do in class or in Sharing Time. Pray so you will know how to help them feel the spirit. Just pray.
