2015 Primary Theme: I Know My Savior Lives

“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth” ( Job 19:25).

Scouting

PTC
I had the opportunity to attend the Program Training Conference today for all Scout Leaders.  It was wonderful to see so many of our leaders there gaining new skills and information and sharing their knowledge with others.  We have such wonderful Cub Scout leaders in our Stake!

Here are some fun ideas from the training:
A “CHEER”  laundry box with large colorful cards that the boys can pull out at Den or Pack meeting with various kinds of Cheers.
A “SOS”  cleaner box that for “songs and skits on stand by”  with quick and easy songs and skits to fill in at last minute if needed or to take up a little time.
The boys could make a cool tie slide holder like a little coat rack on a small 2x4 for all those tie sliders that they can never seem to find. J
The picture attachment is a fun idea for boys to move their clothes pin up the ladder when they advance.  A very nice visual!

Brother Fairbanks in the Arlington first ward started this with his pack. They have a board with the monthly theme. Each month the boys add pictures and quotes to the board that represent the theme. Before each den meeting they do the flag and say the scout motto and the law of the pack. They also talk about the theme and the boys are able to share things that have happened to them throughout the month that have to do with the theme. They also have a board that displays the law of the pack. The boards are displayed at the pack meeting so parents and families can see what the boys have been working on and discussing. They start den meetings as a pack and then break into their various groups as wolves, bears, and weblos. The themes are given out at round table each month with fun ideas for pack meetings that involve all of the boys. I thought it was a great idea!!

I have another thought for the blog under scouting. Pack 89 of Stanwood has each family help with pack meeting each month. Each family signs up for a month and then they are in charge of the activity and snack for Pack meeting. They are given a sheet with activities to choose from that go along with the monthly theme. These sheets are given out at Round table. This gets every family involved and is fun for everyone!! Sorry, no pictures for this one.
